History
Founder and President Jim Nelson brings over
42 years of television engineering experience to Glenwood Systems as
principal consultant. Jim's career has spanned the range of corporate
television as an Engineer at Sears, Roebuck and Company to post production as
Chief Engineer at Optimus and Editel Chicago. Jim's milestone projects
include work as Special Projects Engineer, designing video systems for The
Harold Washington Library Center and SportsChannel Chicago with systems house
Video Images. Glenwood Systems was incorporated in July, 1992, with the
idea of providing system design and consulting independent of equipment
sales. Furthermore, we seek to set the industry standard for system
documentation. Some of Jim's most current work includes: production engineering
for national network annual meeting, many large-venue events, design of new ground-up corporate studio facility,
corporate studio facility conversion to digital for production and postproduction including
IP control networks, CAD document Wheatstone D10 audio console systems,
HD DTV CATV cable head ends, Evertz PassPort programming, CAD design
of automation based TV control room for operator console millwork and live
HD news trucks.
